MinDA SUPPORTS SABAH INTERNATIONAL EXPO 2023

Key officials of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) and Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) met with MinDA Secretary Maria Belen S. Acosta to discuss Mindanao’s participation in the forthcoming Sabah International Expo (SIE) 2023 today at MinDA Office, Davao City.
The delegation was comprised of MICCI Chairman Datuk Lee Swi Heng and Vice Chairman I Datuk Susan Chang HS, FSI President Richard Y.H. Lim, and accompanied by Malaysian Consulate General - Davao Consul General Hon. Deddy Faisal Bin Ahmad Salleh. They discussed with Secretary Acosta the details and preparations for SIE 2023, as well as invited through MinDA various private sector groups in Mindanao to join.
During the meeting, MICCI Vice Chair Chang also highlighted that this year’s SEI will organize the Sabah International Business Luncheon Talk (SIBLT). Targeting 500 international delegates, SIBLT will present views on key topics concerning regional development and economic issues in the sub-region.
Further, it is a pre-Expo program that aims to enable SEI participants and business entities across BIMP-EAGA to engage in recent development opportunities both in Sabah and in the neighboring regions.
Meanwhile, the SIE is Sabah’s premier trade fair and a Sabah State government-supported biennial event held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, and has been one of the largest and most successful trade events in the BIMP-EAGA sub-region.
From 2000 to 2016, SIE gathered more than 300,000 visitors and participants from 51 countries. The Expo’s major focus areas include agriculture and fisheries, manufacturing, real estate, food and beverage, health care, automotive, building materials, services and tourism, oil and gas, green technology, and information technology.
