KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Minister of Finance, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun discussed the agenda and programmes for the 10th Sabah International Expo 2023 (SIE2023) with the organising committee at his office in Menara Kinabalu on Tuesday.

The Minister was invited to chair the Sabah International Business Luncheon Talk 2023 (SIBLT2023), a key event of SIE2023, which will feature speakers Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and Tan Sri Andrew Sheng.

Masidi urged the organisers to showcase Sabah’s achievements and potential in the expo, which coincides with the 60th anniversary of Sabah’s independence and Malaysia’s formation. He also expressed his hope that SIE2023 will attract more domestic direct investments (DDI) to boost Sabah’s economy and revenue.

“I encourage the organisers of SIE2023 to go all out this year as Sabah is celebrating 60 years since her independence as well as the Federation of Malaysia and SIE2023 is a great avenue for internationals and Malaysians alike to learn more about what Sabah has done and what we have to offer.

“It is also my hope that SIE2023 will put more focus on domestic direct investments (DDI) and not just focusing on foreign direct investments (FDI) to continue to build Sabah’s economy and ultimately raise the State’s GDP and revenue,” said Masidi.

The organising committee, led by co-organising chairman Datuk Lee Swi Heng, thanked Masidi for his support and insight.

Lee, who is also the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sabah Chairman, said Masidi was the perfect person to moderate SIBLT2023 due to his vast experience and knowledge.

SIE2023 will be held from 22-24 September 2023 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu. It is expected to draw more than 300 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors from various sectors and countries.
