Full Support From Sabah State Government on SIE2023!

PUSAT PENTADBIRAN NEGERI SABAH – The Sabah International Expo 2023 team led by Datuk Lee Swi Heng, the Organising Chairman of SIE2023 and Chairman of Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) Sabah, together with its main committee made a courtesy call on YB Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Haji Safar Untong, the State Secretary of Sabah, on 26th October 2022.
During the courtesy call, Datuk Lee informed YB Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Safar Untong that the Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) and the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MICCI) Sabah will be jointly organising the 10th Sabah International Business Luncheon Talk 2023 (SIBLT2023) on 21 September 2023; and Sabah International Exposition (SIE2023) from 22-24 September 2023 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
YB Datuk Seri Sr Safar Untong expressed his pleasure in giving full support and offering the Sabah State government to jointly organise the SIE2023. A support letter from his office will be forthcoming and the Sabah State will then be officially involved in all the promotional activities. He also offered the SIE committee to provide transportation services for the participating ambassadors and high commissioners at the SIE2023 throughout their stay in Sabah.
Sabah International Expo (SIE) is one of the largest trade expositions organised in Sabah and the BIMP-EAGA region. It has been held once every two years since the year 2000. It has successfully attracted more 350,000 visitors in total since its inception. More than 50 countries have participated in previous SIEs and SIBLTs as exhibitors and conference delegates. For SIE2023, the Organising Committee is targeting to showcase 300 exposition booths from more than 10 countries and to welcoming more than 20,000 buyers and trade visitors throughout the 3-day exposition.
The Sabah State government through the Ministry of Industrial Development (MID) Sabah has sanctioned this premier biennal trade exposition since the year 2000 and it is endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
The aims and objectives of this biennial event are:
- To create awareness on the potential of Sabah to the regional and international market, particularly on the trade an investment opportunity in the agriculture, tourism and manufacturing and other potentials at the BIMP-EAGA;
- To promote Sabah as the preferred Investment partner, and
- To serve as a platform and conducive environment for both public and private sectors to network, establish contact and strategic business ties among local and international business community.
In-conjunction with this SIE2023, there will be Sabah International Business Luncheon Talk 2023 on the 1st day on SIE as a pre-expo programme. The SIBLT’s objectives are to enable participants to have an opportunity to be informed of the update or recent developments and opportunities both in Sabah and in the surrounding region. The SIBLT would also enable participants to visit the SIE to explore exhibits of both local and international products. The SIBLT provides participants with unparalleled networking opportunities.
SIBLT2023 will highlight the theme: Sabah, Your Preferred investment Partner.
SIBLT2023 will feature two (2) Key Speakers on a topic concerning regional development and key economic issues in the region throughout a luncheon and to be followed by a Q&A Session. A prominent Moderator will be invited to facilitate the Q&A Session.
Other than Sabah State Government involvement, active participation and support from corporate and business community are anticipated. This event will also portray Sabah to the world that it has great potential to be the Preferred Investment partner, an ideal and conducive environment for businesses as well as a great destination to live in.
