PLAZA SHELL, KOTA KINABALU - The SIE2023 delegates were led by Datuk Lee Swi Heng (Chairman of MICCI Sabah) and Mr Richard Lim ( President of FSI), joined by Ms Stella Liew, Pn Dayang Surianti Daud, Mr Hi Loong and Ms Ampuan Nurhameezah.
The Hap Seng Development team was led by the General Manager, Ms Joanne Chung and joined by Mr David Wan Young Yin, Ms Marianne Yong Foo Ping and Mr Tan Hong Kiat @ Ryan.
The meeting began with introductory remarks from both sides and a video presentation of SIE2023 video.
Datuk Lee Swi Heng Briefed Ms Joanne Chung regarding the Sabah International Expo 2023 (SIE2023) and introduced her team to the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) and introduced Mr Richard Lim as The Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) organization president. He then continued to explain about Sabah International Expo 2023 (SIE) to Ms Joanne and her team. Datuk Lee also mentioned and explained the ideas on the Sabah International Business Luncheon 2023 (SIBLT) that will be held on the 21st September 2023.
Ms Joanne stated during the meeting that the organization may not be able to provide much monetary sponsorship for SIE2023 but will support and offer assistance through other methods. Nevertheless, she will bring up the matter with the board for finalization. Ms Joanne has also stated their interest in opening booths for SIE2023. She also mentioned to the committee regarding the organization's latest Hotel, the Hyatt Centric hotel and suggested it to be one of the official hotels for SIE2023 delegates.
Some of the suggestion given by Ms Joanne for SIE2023:
- Come up with other sources of monetary assistance such as having a Gala Night dinner etc. .
- Carry out Sabah International Expo annually instead of every two years and have different themes each year to gain excitement.
- Propose to the state government on sponsorship regarding the venue for the expo, SICC.
